Literary Bucket List

Inspired by Allison from The Book Wheel and Rebecca from Love at First Book ’50 Bookish Things to do Before You Die’ my Literary Bucket List is a work in progress.   I’m adding a few crossovers from my ‘Bloggy’ Things to Do as well.  A few of these are gleaned from our gracious hostess’ Allison and Rebecca and the rest are dreams I’ve had forever!~ in no particular order

  1. Open a new/used independent book store.
  2. Go on a writer’s retreat.
  3. Have a blurb in a book {semi-realized on author sites Layton Green and  Timothy Ashby; realized with the resource Blogging for Writers by Robin Houghton and Brutal Youth by Anthony Breznican.}
  4. Be invited as an Amazon Vine Reviewer {would actually help if I cross-posted my reviews!}
  5. Own a copy of every book Madeleine L’Engle published.
  6. Visit the Library of Congress.
  7. Join Friends of the Library.
  8. Help create a successful fundraiser for local Friends of the Library.
  9. Guest post for a big deal bookish-related site or magazine.
  10. Write an article for Book Riot.
  11. Have a review posted/published by a national organization/site.
  12. Be syndicated on BlogHer.
  13. Asked to be a guest speaker at a conference.
  14. Make enough money from the blog to break even on blog costs.
  15. Attend BEA.  attended 2012!
  16. Attend SIBA. attended 2011. 2014.
  17. Help create a Georgia Book Bloggers/Southern Book Bloggers event.
  18. Donate at least 1000 books to a cause.
  19. Finish Classics Club Reading Challenge.
  20. Host a reading challenge/blog event. Bookish Mastermind Groups
  21. Write an ebook.
  22. Create a resource list for email signups.
  23. Donate to Little Free Library. ~ongoing.
  24. Create a Little Free Library.
  25. Create and/or participate in a bookmobile/pedicab for children.
  26. Visit famous literary sites and author’s homes.  ~visited Ernest Hemingway’s home and museum in Key West, 2012; ~visited Margaret Mitchell home in Atlanta, Georgia, 2011; visited William Faulkner’s home and now bookstore in New Orleans, 2015;
  27. Get invited to join blogger network at SheReads.  Yay! Invited in May, 2014!
  28. Start an Atlanta Chapter of WNBA – Women’s National Book Association.
  29. Participate in Twitter and/or Google+ author discussions.  {Ariel Lawhon – March, 2014 + ongoing}
  30. Stay at The Library Hotel  in New York City.
  31. Become Freshly Pressed on WordPress.
  32. Send monthly book care packages {book + activities} to grandson and nieces. {first mailing to TLM included The Pout-Pout Fish}
  33. Visit The Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale, Arizona. Done! March, 2016!
